Meeting Minutes - October 7, 2025

1. November fundraiser:  Eileen brought kits to the meeting for making napkins for the fundraiser.  Any items that members wish to make are welcome for the fundraiser.  The items are needed by the November  meeting . There will be a sign up for volunteers for the event at the November meeting. Members can join the next sew day and make items for the fundraiser also.

2. Treasurer’s report:  Lori gave the treasurer’s report.  The bank account balance is $6700, minus the $2400 deposit that she just made for the next retreat

3. Board positions:  Gene Ratcliff volunteered to be secretary next year. Pat, Lori and Heidi have volunteered to stay on in their positions for one more year, Eileen will shadow Lori next year, and Karen will shadow Pat. Marnie will help Heidi with IT but the guild needs another person to help with IT during meetings.

4. PVQA Meeting news:  Pam Rocco will be speaking at PVQA next week at the Temple Beth El.  There will be free admission for nonmembers.

5. PVQA show:  There will be a dedicated section available at the quilt show for SBAMQG.  SBAMQG will need to set up a raffle basket for the show and we need to decide on a theme for the basket.  Karen volunteered to head up the basket project.

6. Demonstration:  Kathleen Howard demonstrated her method for machine piecing English paper piecing shapes.  She shared her progress on her amazing quilt top that features animals on her property.

7. Holiday swap:  Heidi will send out a link to a questionnaire regarding the holiday swap.  There will be a choice of mug rug or coasters.  The  exchange will take place at the December meeting.

8. Quiltcon community quilt:  Lori brought the partially completed quilt top and discussed the progress to date.

9. Membership renewal:  Membership renewal is $55 and due by the January meeting.  The members that pay their dues by the end of the year will be entered in a drawing.  A current membership roster with email and phone numbers will be emailed out in the near future.  Members can opt out of the list if they contact Pat.

10. Winter retreat:  The retreat will be held February 12-15, Thursday thru Sunday.  The prices are $440 for a double room, and  $515 for a single room.  There will be a $20 (correction: $25) fee for non members.  Sign ups will open on October 20.

11. Sew day:  There will be a sew day on October 18.
