Meeting Minutes - November 4, 2025

1. Pat introduced one new member - Nancy Cantwell, and three visitors - Ester, Kendra,  and Brooke.

   
   

2. The 2026 SBAMQG Board election was held. The winners were Gene Ratcliffe - Secretary,  Lori Green and Eileen Murphy - co-Treasurers,  Karen Clayton and Heidi Mackessy - co-Vice Presidents, and Pat Goulet - President.

   
   

3. Non-board positions include Marnie Genes-website manager, Marlene Schwartz - membership,  and Darlene Talukder- social media.

   
   

4. Eileen discussed the upcoming fundraiser.  Eileen had a volunteer sign up sheet for the event, divided into two hour shifts.  The fundraiser will take place on Nov 15, at La Selva Beach.  The guild held a pres-ale during the break.

   
   

5. Karen Clayton demonstrated how to make an easy shopping bag.  She graciously provided patterns and offered to email the pattern as well.

   
   

6. Heidi led a short discussion on the Holiday swap.

   
   

7. The meeting attendees then broke into three groups and each group discussed their thoughts on the future of the guild, including suggestions for meeting topics, and guild activities. Notes were taken from each group and will be presented at the next meeting.

   
   

8. Eighteen people have registered for the February 12-15 retreat so far.  

   
   

9. Karen Foster announced the theme for the  PVQA basket:  Furry and Feathered friends.  Members can donate animal themed items.  Items will be needed by the January meeting.

   
   

10. There will be a donation sew day at Pat’s house on Thursday and a sew day at the church on Saturday.

    
    

11. Heidi announced that there will be a “how do I quilt this” / “ ask Fabby” discussion at the January meeting.

    
    

12. The PVQA Show entries are now open.

    
    

13. Sew and Tell - Lori, Vivian, Nancy, Iris, Anna, Mary, Jan, Laura, Darlene, and Jeannie shared their quilts.
