Meeting Minutes - August 5, 2025

  1. Pat introduced two new members, Joan and Ann.

  2. The 2025 quilt retreat will be held on Sept 24 - 27.  Pat asked the members if they would like to have a no frills retreat Jan. 22-25.  The majority voted in favor of having the January retreat (now scheduled for February 12-15).

  3. Darlene gave an amazing presentation on Bangladeshi fabrics and embroidery.

  4. Kits were available for making blocks for the Quiltcon community quilt.

  5. Pat gave an update on Donation quilts. Pat is making a quilt for the Housing Matters raffle in September. There will be a sew day at Pat’s house the first Thursday in September starting at 10:30.  Pat requested help with the quilt. The guild has donated 15 quilts to Housing Matters this month.

  6. Heidi presented ideas for the December swap, including mini wall hangings, pincushions, coasters, and zipper pouches.  The members voted for making coasters/mug rugs.

  7. All Board positions are open for 2026.

  8. The Fundraiser in La Selva Beach will be on November 15th. Eileen announced that kits will be available for making napkins and other items at the next meeting.

  9. Pat shared pictures taken at the STEM camp.  

  10. Gayne announced that there are openings for the PVQA class on September 7th with Rami Kim.  She will be teaching Korean fabric folding techniques.

  11. Sew and Tell - Vivian, Diane, Darlene and Laura shared quilts.
