Meeting Minutes - July 2, 2024

1. Medallion mashup recap - The workshop was a great success.  Kathryn presented her finished top, Leslie , Anna, and Merydith also shared their projects.

2. Fundraising - Heidi announced that volunteers are needed for a fundraising committee.We ideally need 3-4 people to sign up.

3. Volunteers are also needed for the community quilt con quilt committee , to bring snacks to meetings ,and to do demos at the meetings.

4. New website- Marnie showed a preview of the new website that she is creating for SBAMQG.  

5. The next Library day coincides with the PIQF show.  Pat inquired how many members were planning to attend the library meeting.

6. The Charity meetings will be on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 10:00.

7. Ruth announced that Piqf is coming up at the end of July and mentioned a blog called A quilters table.  She also presented the new block of the month for the next charity quilt called the potato chip block.  The directions will be posted on the website (click here). Blocks will be due at the next meeting in August.

8. Laura and Vivian presented their design ideas for the quiltcon charity quilt.  The committee will decide which design to choose.

9. Show and tell - Gayne, Dale, Vivian, Katherine, Leslie, Kathryn, and Susan shared their quilts.  Two finished charity quilts were also shared.

10. Heidi is sending out a survey about potential dates for a Mel beach class.

11. Ruth will be organizing participation in the holiday sale at La Selva 

12. Libby brought up another fundraising idea, making quilts for the auction at the PVQA show.  If a member donates two quilts to the auction, they receive 75% of the proceeds from one of the quilts.
